Pokémon collection inventory
Inventory a big Pokémon collection, fast
Sort, scan whole pages, import what you've already listed elsewhere, add a set in one go: the method to go from shoebox to a priced collection.
· Free · your phone and your computer
The short answer
The fastest way: first import what you've already listed elsewhere (Pokécardex, Cardmarket, Collectr, TCGplayer or a spreadsheet), then scan the rest, several cards or a whole binder page per photo.
For an almost complete set, open it, select your cards and add them all at once.
Set your usual language and condition first: each card comes in with its price.
Before you start
- 1Sort by set (the symbol and number at the bottom of the card), then by number: duplicates and gaps jump out.
- 2Set aside the cards that matter (rare, shiny, old): start with them.
- 3Set your usual language and condition (Settings → My cards): every card added takes them, you only change the exceptions.
- 4Decide what to do with commons: inventory everything, or only what's worth something.
The scanner
- One card
- One photo: the card is recognised with its version and price.
- Several cards at once
- Lay your cards side by side on a plain table, one photo is enough: each one is recognised.
- A binder page
- Photograph a whole page, from 2×2 to 4×4: each pocket is read and filed in its place.
- A card recognised wrongly
- You change it in one tap, or reframe it: only that card is read again.
- The iPhone app
- In beta, it scans a whole binder page live.
For good photos: bright light without glare, the phone held parallel, the page flat. Cards in sleeves or toploaders work too.
Scan your collection in a few minutes
One photo per binder page, or per handful of cards on the table: gotem. recognises each card and adds it with its price. Free, no card limit.
Importing from another app or a spreadsheet
Already listed everything elsewhere? Export your file and drop it on gotem. It recognises on its own:
- Pokécardex's collection export;
- the CSV export of your Cardmarket stock (cards are recognised by their Cardmarket ID);
- TCGplayer's CSV export;
- Collectr's CSV export;
- a spreadsheet saved as CSV, with the set (its name or code), the number and/or the name of each card.
- The columns
- Recognised by their header, in any order, separated by semicolons, commas or tabs.
- Quantity, condition, language, version
- « Near Mint », « NM », « Neuve »… become the Cardmarket condition; « Reverse », « Holo », « 1st Edition »… the right version; each line's language is kept.
- Before adding
- You see everything: cards to add, ones you already have, ones with a different name, ones to review. Nothing is added without your confirmation.
- No duplicates
- Only what's missing is added: importing the same file twice adds nothing.
- A mistake?
- Right after the import, you can undo it all.
Your collection imported from one file
Drop in your export, check what's recognised, confirm: your cards are there, with their prices.
Bulk adds
- Open a set, tap « Select », tick your cards and add « +1 copy » to all of them at once.
- Same for your wishlist: select the cards you're missing and add them to your list.
- In your collection: put several cards up for trade at once, or file them in a binder.
- Export a selection as images: your duplicates, your missing cards or your cards for sale, ready to post.
After the inventory
- Your collection's value, card by card and in total, updated every day.
- What you're missing, set by set.
- Your duplicates ready to trade, and online binders that mirror your real ones.
- A backup: My account → My data → « Download my data ».
